park with vaughns and moyes

emily and andrew taking a water break :)

Today we went to a new park with our friends. The kids had a blast even though it was a hot day. We brought our lunch so had a picnic on the grass. There was a creek nearby so as soon as the children saw that, forget the playground, they were all drawn to the water :)

getting ready to go to store

Thursday night we had to run to the store so the kids were told to get ready. I found them all in the bathroom. They had brushed their teeth, combed their hair, even sprayed it with hairspray, and madison was putting on my make up while she told the boys make up was only for girls :)

park with michelle and bohac boys

Today was back in the 70's. so much cooler weather. I had a friend, Michelle, drop by to hang out with us today. I am so glad she came because I ended up babysitting 2 extra kids today which isn't so bad normally but today my kids were so cranky. Since it was such beautiful day I didn't want to stay indoors so took the kids to a new park up the street. Mary Bohac and her boys met us up there. But my kids didn't last too long today. They were so whiny. I think getting up before 7 played a big part. So we took them home, fed them, and put them to the bed. Well anyhow, today was busy and kinda stressful with cranky kids. Maybe they will sleep in tomorrow morning so we can have a better day.

the only time they weren't whiny was when they were eating a snack mary bohac brought
cailyn wearing a hat to help protect the sun from her head...don't think she was liking that
this morning, cailyn was all smiles :)
she sticks her tongue out a lot and here she is blowing bubbles too

caleb is the little boy I have 3 days a week

madison was crying here because she didn't want to get off the slide because there was a little water at the end and she didn't want to get dirty....oh mercy...such a whiny girl today....

fun in the sprinkler

Madison kept her distance the whole time...didn't even use her squirt gun because she didn't want to get wet

megan and andrew keeping a safe distance from the water :)
that boy loves the water!
megan trying to touch the water without getting wet :)
Tyler actually finally got wet though it took a lot of coaxing, he even smiled a couple of times when he felt the water

Today we went to hang out at Sarah Vaughn's house. Since it was close to 100 degrees we decided to pull out the sprinkler. We thought the kids would love getting wet on such a hot day. But the only one that really enjoyed it was nathanael. madison wouldn't even go near it and here she was the one all excited to go play in the water. but whatever, she missed out on all the fun. the others slowly crept near it and finally after much coaxing realized it wasn't too bad although they never really played in it like nathanael. He had lots of fun. Maybe the others will play in it next time.

memories from the party

birthday party

andrew's birthday

well yesterday morning was a long day but a good one. I started the morning at 5:30am. know it was going to be in the high 90's I wanted to get andrew's birthday cake baked early in the morning and brett and I wanted to get a start on the kid's new play area. I found free wood chips online so brett, being a wonderful husband, made several trips with his new truck to go get enough for our project...that truck sure has come in handy many times...anyway, while he and nathanael started doing the framework for the playarea, I had helpers helping me clean and make the cake. I decided to make ice cream cone cakes...something different and fun for the kids. I think madison and andrew enjoyed putting the fingers in the bowl more than helping me :) well after cleaning the house and getting all the food ready we went outside to help brett. even mommy picked up a shovel and helped. Digging trenches for the frame and then hauling wood chips reminded me of doing work for you daddy :) I could tell it had been a long time since I had done landscaping because my hands were hurting afterwards. But I sure felt good getting out and working. We weren't able to finish seeing that we had a party and on top of that it was only 101 degrees outside. so we stopped and hopefully will finish later this week.
we had a cookout later that afternoon and the Bohac's and the Vaugh's came. I don't know if andrew really grasped the fact that it was his birthday but he sure liked having his buddies here to play with and he especially liked the ice cream cakes :) he kept saying "more, more" :) since he was the birthday boy, he got two :)
well we had a great day yesterday. Thank the Lord for another year he has given us with andrew! He is such a joy to have!

we finally got our new couch in today! the kids just got back from clubs so they are enjoying watching a movie with daddy on the new couch...they even had to have their legs propped up like daddy :) And the couch is staying true to it's word....it's microfiber and it is supposed to be great for children...anyway, we hadn't had it for over an hour and andrew got up from the table after dinner and ran straight to the couch before we could stop him and he got spaghetti sauce on it..daddy was not too happy to say the least when he saw red sauce on the couch....but with just wiping it down with a clean rag and water, it came off and now you would never know. So this is a great couch for kids :)

Strawberry picking and then park

This morning we got up and met Tania and her family at Miller's Farm to pick strawberries. The kids had so much fun running up and down the rows trying to find the "red ones". I think they ate more then went into the box :) Now I have to go wash them and then freeze some of them so the kids won't eat them all today :)
After we picked strawberries we met Mary and her boys at a park. We went to a new one, or at least to us, so the boys and madison :) had fun playing at a new playground. They had a nice walking path so Mary and I walked around it and actually jogged around it. We wanted to jog a couple of times around but with my kids being tired and whining and wanting to be held didn't get to far with that. So will have to try jogging some other time without the kids.
So kids have had a busy day. Coming home and eating and then taking baths they should take a long nap for mommy :)
